About Our Reclaimed Flooring
There are a few very important attributes that give reclaimed hardwood superiority over newly harvested lumber. One, it’s age. It’s old. REALLY old.
The painfully slow process of a virgin-timber sapling maturing into a 200-ft tree gives this lumber it’s extremely tight grain and arrow-straight trunks. It’s from this select resource that our lifetime reclaimed flooring is made.
Exposure to years of harsh weather and elements makes up the second attribute. Wood is organic and is always adapting to it’s surroundings as it achieves balance and stability.
Our wood has been soaking up its surroundings for over 100 years. During that time, this wood expands, contracts, absorbs and reacts to a variety of elements that gradually transform its “character” and instills the unquestionable beauty and stability of our finished product. You won’t find any hand-distressing, artificial aging or any other factory-made stuff going on in our reclaimed wood. Each wide plank board we offer is truly unique and bears the marks of an early American heritage.
Final attribute: Reclaimed wood is 100% recycled.
This is the real deal.
Antique reclaimed wood reduces the demand on our forests and provides a superior building material product.

Distillery Oak – Wood Flooring |
||
Our classic remilled grade oak is sawn from the same material as our distressed grade but come from deeper within the beams and boards. This makes for a slightly lighter floor in color and patina without taking away any of the rich character of reclaimed wood. Antique reclaimed oak has a hardness factor that suits even the most active households. Choose an oil based finish to create a warmth in your floor that will compliment all decorating styles from traditional to contemporary. Our antique resawn oak hardwood wide plank flooring features a moderate, authentic mix of sound checking, sound cracks, knots and insect holes/tracks, together with same strength, durability and wear-resistance as our other reclaimed oak options. |

Wormy Chestnut |
||
Wormy Chestnut is not a distinct species of Chestnut, but rather refers to American Chestnut (Castanea dentata) trees that were killed by the chestnut blight of the early 1900s, which were subsequently damaged by insects, leaving holes and discoloration in the standing trees. The trees were then subsequently harvested and converted into lumber. Because of the blight wiping out nearly all mature American Chestnut trees, its lumber is both rare and (relatively) valuable. Wormy Chestnut in particular is usually salvaged from old barns and other structures, and reprocessed and sold as reclaimed lumber. Between the nail holes, discoloration, worm and insect damage, Wormy Chestnut is preferred in applications where a rustic or unpolished appearance is desired.

Original Face Barn Wood Flooring |
||
This recycled barn wood flooring starts with the gray barn siding planks which are de-nailed, edged, and selected for quality. The board is then sent through a special sander which lightly sands the surface while leaving the patina and character marks. It is then passed through a molder to create the tongue and groove/back relief. This floor can be either mixed species or all oak. Our Original Face Flooring can also have some original paint like shown in the sample panel. This adds great character but certainly can be left out if preferred. We customize our flooring to your needs. |

Tavern Poplar |
||
The most unique character in this flooring is the dramatic color variations. Colors range from pale yellow tones, golden amber and dark green. With time, these colors may mellow some and won’t contrast quite as much. The sapwood is also creamy white and may be streaked, with the heartwood varying from pale yellowish brown to olive green. The green color in the heartwood will tend to darken on exposure to light and turn brown. The wood has a medium to fine texture and is straight-grained. It also has a comparatively uniform texture which helps give this flooring its unique beauty. |
